The Bear Tooth Theatrepub is excited to once again partner with the Anchorage Folk Festival in bringing live music to the people of Anchorage. Join us Saturday, January 25th for an evening of jamming to eclectic sounds that are sure to make you want to dance. Based in Santa Cruz, California, the group met as teenagers, picking and jamming together as kids at local bluegrass festivals until one day, they decided they would be a band. Currently made up of AJ Lee on mandolin, fiddler Jan Purat, and guitarists Scott Gates and Sullivan Tuttle, the band carries that youthful, festival-parking-lot energy with them still today, but at the same time there’s a genuine ease and confidence to their music making. Anchorage Folk Festival features over 165 local acts taking the stage over 10 days of free events, this festival showcases the incredible talent of our local musicians and performers, while showcasing a diverse selection of guests artists from the national and international scene. This festival celebrates the heart of folk music and the creative spirit of our community, bringing together talented musicians, performers, and artists from near and far. Whether you’re enjoying a live performance, learning something new in a workshop, or exploring the unique offerings of our dances and fundraiser, there’s something for everyone. $8 Matinees / $9 General
Screenings before 5 PM are $8. Evening shows are $9. Reserved 3-person booths are $32; 4-person booths are $42.
Arrive 30–45 Min Early
We recommend arriving 30–45 minutes prior to showtime for parking, placing concession food orders, and beverage service.
